Tips on How to Replace a 122 Speedometer? 120-130

That is what I intend to do... move them all! The switches come out really easy with the exception of the ignition switch (with that, just force a bend in the armored cable enough to get the switch clear of the dash and bend it down). I made a spanner tool from flat steel plate to remove the nuts that secure the switches and escutchions. They will all come loose and hang down without disconnecting wires (except instrument lighting).

I am waiting for my new water temp guage before I start... this is one job I want to do just once. The guage is a bourdon tube style so it appears it will have to be disconnected from the cylinder head and threaded through the firewall for removal. With patience it probably can be rremoved from the cluster and and left in place. My tube is is physically broke, so it will come out!

10 lbs of stuff in a 5 lb bag up there. Surprising for such a simple car, Eh!!!

Ice down a couple a of brews in advance to celebrate with at the completion of the chore. I like Guinness draft or Anchor Porter myself!!
