Thanks for the reply Art, I`ll have another look at it tomorrow and let you know the result.

As you can probably work out from the question, straightforward electrics I can manage, electronics are a different matter.

The circuit design was not mine, I just found it on the Web, nobody was more surprised than me when it actually turned on and off!!!!
