Help with electronics 700 1990

Calling the electronics gurus out there.

I have recently built the variable wiper delay circuit below.
This works fine exept when wired to the car the output pulse does not power the wiper motor for long enough to engage the self park switch.



Has anyone any suggestions on how to modify it to provide around a 1/4 to 1/2 sec output pulse?

Any suggestions (the simpler the better) gratefully recieved.
