Here's a coil puzzler for you...

the only way to really tell if the coil is going is to put an ignition scope on it. put the engine under load and watch the kv. the harness on the chyrsler ignition doesn't get affected like the the engine harness does, different material. they do break, though, behind the alternator and under the crank pulley. the connector at the icu is also a suspect. good luck, chuck.
