240 1988 Odometer does not work.... how difficult is it to change out?

Hi,
Did anyone post the instructions for replacing the gear?
I can get the cluster out with no problem, but I'm hesitant to pull the
speedo needle off. Does it just pull off and then remove the two screws to access the gear? Thanks in advance for any advise or help.
