Should I take this as "send money for shipping before payment" ?
Don't. My take on it is very simple: you're _selling_. That means money comes in, and goods go out.
If the buyer wants the goods (in this case presumably a motor vehicle) shipped, either he arranges it and pays for it, or you arrange for it through a shipper you find and trust and pay for it.
Potentially you arrange for it and the buyer pays for it at the receiving end, or the buyer pays first including the shipping fee and you pay the shipper upon pickup of the vehicle (and only after the check definitely clears!). In no way, shape or form should you send money to a party of buyer's designation before receiving and clearing payment. That's usually a confidence game.
It's a rule I strictly enforce myself. Buyer picks up (or arranges for pickup), or I arrange for delivery, and no car leaves my physical posession until the title has been transferred (tranbsferring title is a legal requirement here in the Netherlands, registration requirements may differ in your jurisdiction) and payment has been made in full. For the cars I sometimes need to sell (I don't think I've sold much over about 5 grand) that usually means cash so no problems with clearing checks.
