I'd love to know more about the black plastic lever. The picture below (back of an '86 cluster) doesn't show this lever.
The speedos for a wagon and a sedan have slightly different calibrations to compensate for the slightly different tires sizes. On the front of the speedo, just under the trip odo, you'll see a "k" number (such as k9800). This is the "kalibration" for the number of electronic pulses that equales 1.000 miles.
If you use the wrong speedo, it only means that it will read a few percent high or low.
