Not sure if this is near your problem, but all the speakers in my car wouldn't work at the same time and i'd catch myself adjusting the volume knob every which way to clear it up. Finally, someone (i believe Art B.) mentioned "electrical cunductive spray" (its at any auto parts store). I took the volume knob off, sprayed a bunch in the knob, and radio works fine now! Sometimes, I do have to use the product every month, but it's worth the 18 y/o radio, right? G-luck, Michael
