It all started with a simple post "How can I make a turbo B230 last as long as a NA B230". Paul S. mentioned that using a dual remote oil filter will increase oil capacity, filtering capacity as well as making the filters easy to change. Sounded good to me! I easily acquired the filter mount from eBay for cheap then bought the adapter from perma-cool. I thought how much could fittings and hose be??? Well after doing some talking and surfing the net turns out hose and fittings are really expensive. I can't bear to put worm drive clamps on hose that is so critical, I also don't want to run rubber by the turbo hence wanting to run metal lines like that are in the earlier 740 oil cooler set-ups. I wanted to get the hoses from one of the earlier coolers and have "the hose place" crimp on the right hose lengths. Or get reusable fittings but that is cost prohibitive.
There is a mod for 850 owners to add an oil cooler. They use the oil cooler lines from a 740 and a setrab oil cooler?? That is where I got the idea I could use the early 740 lines. I guess though removing the lines from the aluminum oil cooler destroys it in the process.
