The bushings are cheap. I think fcpgroton has them for buck or so. The ones they sell are the poly ones. One tip, the poly bushing are a little harder to install since they are stiff, but I'm sure they out last the rubber ones. The rubber ones are easier to intall.
To change them. Put the car on stands. Crawl under to find the shift linkage. It goes from the shifter to the trany, you'll see it. You should find play in it if there are worn. I think there are three bushings (or maybe two), but get an extra one in case. One of the links is held in place with a e clips (don't drop it), the other ones with a 13mm and 14mm bolts. Not too hard to remove, just hard to press the poly bushings. Last I did it I removed the shifter from the car and did it on the bench.
