I'm not the biggest fan of mexican manufacturing, but a good portion of VW's stuff sold in the US is made in Mexico.

You might want to go to www.vwdieselparts.com they have a tech fourm there and ask around to see if anybody there has had any experience with those rings.

Let me know what you find out, I'm going to be due for some rings on my D-24 before too long.
