Oil scraper ring question 200 1988

Got my new piston rings in and the new oil scraper ring has 3 rings....the old scraper ring had 2 rings.... The diagram that came with the new scraper ring shows 2 soild rings on the bottom and 1 mesh wire ring on top.( or I'm Confused by the picture).... should I put 1 solid ring on top , 1 on bottom and the mesh wire ring in the middle?
