Well...have fun with it. Just don't change that classic grille growl look!
Regarding you comments about f*** taking them over...well, my opinion is that Volvo started going downhill with the introduction of the 7 series, and totally went wrong with the fwd 5 cyl. Not to say they ain't nice cars...they are. But they are no longer special. I guess thats why us freaks here on the RWD forum are sticking with the old ones...
The main problem though is that you are dealing with a pushrod six cylinder engine. THere is only so much you can pull from that engine, and no matter what you do, you will never beat a well build small block chevy... or Mopar for that matter. No replacement for displacement.
And my Dodge inline 6 has more cubes than your Volvo...and your Volvo has twice the power. Of course...the 230 flathead 6 wasn't designed to be fast. 'Specially in a '51 power wagon.... so thats OK. But you ain't gonna pull much more than stock out of your B30. It (like the B20) really was a high performance engine from teh factory. All you can do is a cam, slight overbore, and head work. Pricey stuff..
You mention the drive "back from Cheyenne".... where were you headed back to?
