Hi all,
the `Black Bastage` did it to me again. Last week, luckily while it was outside my house) it refused to start after it had been running fine half an hour before. I thought it was me, thought I`d inadvertantly toed the gas pedal and flooded it. It eventually flattened the battery without starting. I left it for an hour and went back to it, set up a jump from the other car, and she started (almost) first time after behaving like a flooded engine (misfire, half catching, catching on 3 and running lumpy, then finally the fourth pot took and she ran fine.
No reacurance for several days, then today took the wife and kids out, drove fine for 30 miles, stopped her for 15 minutes while I popped in somewhere, came back out - DEFINATELY DIDN`T touch the gas pedal, but - no start. Couple of intermitent firing sequences but she wouldn`t catch. Eventually flattened the battery and we had to get a cab home :o(
OK - had nothing but the standard toolkit on me, and it was p*ssing down (wouldn`t you know it? :o( ) so didn`t do much, but I checked and wiggled what connections I could find, nothing loose, wiggled/checked all fuses etc - approximatley 3 gallons of juice in the tank. Appears to have spark to plugs as tries to fire up. Tach needle moves when she tries to fire, but not when just cranking.
Had to leave her parked beside a junction (naughty, prolly get a ticket on top of the cab fare :o( and intend to return later today / early tommorow fully tooled...... any ideas anyone?
