Where is it going, Oil that is!

I'm using Mobil 10-30W dino oil with a Volvo filter. With this kind of consumption Mobil 1 is a little expensive! The way I check my oil is to start the car, run it for a few min., turn it off and check the level. I just toped it off again and will see what the consumption is over the next week.
