IF the 960T has a B230FT in it, that's the best one hands down (unless of course it hasn't ever had its oil changed or some other extenuating circumstance). The seller may be mistaken; the easiest way to find out is to pop the hood. If the valve cover says "24V" on it and the airbox doesn't have "Turbo" embossed on it, you're looking at the B6304 2.9L I6, which isn't anywhere near as strong as the B230-series engines, but if properly maintained can be a good engine (see the 960 section of the 700/900 FAQ for more info on the B6304's potential problems).
I agree with the other poster, I think that the only way you'd see a B230FT in a 960 would be if one of the POs did a swap. Honestly, either the '91 940T or the 960T (if it has the 4-cyl turbo B230FT) are great cars. Get the one with the most complete and trouble-free maintenance records, best condition, and best price. But if the 960 has the 6-cylinder in it, go for the 940T hands down.
