Intermittent cut out while accelerating 700 1985

I have a 740 Gle, N.A. I have just spent the last week rewiring a lot of the engine. Replaced the fuel pressure regulator and throttle switch. The main fuel pump and in tank pump are both less than a year old.Fuel pump relay is new, also new O2 sensor, wires, plugs, distributor, and probably some more stuff I can't remember. The problem is that sometimes shortly after I start out I go to accelerate and engine wants to die, if I accelerate very, very slowly I can get up to speed as long as there are no hills. Also when this happens I can pull over, turn off engine, restart engine and go without having the problem. It's like something gets reset. I suspect some more rewiring lies in my future. Any recommendations as to where to begin the hunt. Also I think that sometimes when the problem is occuring and the car is idling the main fuel pump makes a loud buzzing sound and/or a surging whining like it is straining. I must get this fixed soon as my wife is threatening me with zero percent interest rates on new cars. Many thanks.
