Hesitation problem evolves to no start problem 200 1989

Hi,

Suggestion: Take off semi-thin hose, at fuel pressure regulator, which runs from regulator to manifold. If gasoline comes trickling out here regulator damaged (this hose confers "vacuum" sensing from manifold to regulator and should only contain air). Leaking regulator might fit with gas on plugs. If this not the case, test-run engine by spraying starter fluid into hose and thereby into manifold before cranking. If engine runs and revs up for 5-10 secs, the problem is fuel supply. Could be main pump or clogged main filter next to pump, or in tank pump and filter, just to mention some. Read in FAQs, really useful.

Gustaf
