Auto or Manual for performance?

I agree with Michea1, that straight line performance an auto might edge out the manual, because you might miss shift points. But if you start flicking it around, manual would end up the winner. I think you have one of your lines backwards - instead of turbos benefitting more from autos, it is autos benefitting more from turbos. With manuals you can keep the RPMs up and the car in its powerband, as opposed to autos which will drop you in and out. Just my 0.02
