Re: B20 breather setup 120-130 1967

Hi Danny ....

Have been playing this same game and finally have mine hooked up as per the HAYNES Manual for the way they do the B20 .... Filler cap hose to the nipple on the balance pipe between the carbs and the PCV Valve removed from the flame trap line and that hose connected to the air cleaner on the front carb. Those things that you attach to on the front carb are separate units that just bolt between the air cleaner and the carb. Be absolutely sure that you have a clear flame trap ... I ended up totally removing the rolled up copper filter element that is in the exit nozzle that you connect the hose to and FINALLY after much ejected oil, hair torn out by the roots, weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth have a B20 of very advanced mileage that is currently only consuming about a quart of oil per thousand miles .. and as my Daddy told me lo these many years ago ... oil consumption in that range makes for a VERY long lasting engine ....

BTW you may have noticed that this is opposite to the way the B18 is connected ... and many will tell you that either will work OK .... so I will fall back on the old adage ... Whatever works is great ...

Old Volvos never Die ... they just become COOL .. and run MUCH FASTER !!!
