Thanks for the advice. Basically he has a 1971 145S with a rebuilt engine (headers, dual carbs, etc) and I have a 1974 144 FI - we're hoping to pull my engine out and put his in its place. He currently has an M40 transmission (the 4-spd) connected to his engine and I have an M40 connected to mine. However he has a 410 transmission in the shop which I want to put in in place of the 4 speed.
It's definitely not the M41 tranny.
Is it worth it to put in the 410 or should we keep it simple until I can find an M41 and then make the swap?
