Yes the Toadies are DEFINITELY doing something new right now. They released their first new album in 7 years called Hell Below / Stars Above. If you liked Rubberneck you'll definitely like this one. It has at least 5 songs on it which could easily be singles. Unfortunately, Interscope decided to not publicize the release very well, and basically gave up on backing the band a month after the release. They'd been touring the country for a few months this year when, disgusted by the music industry, the bassist Lisa Umbarger quit the band. This caused the swift collapse of the Toadies, even though they did play a final farewell tour in Texas. There were 5 or so shows. I was lucky enough to get to see them in Houston, but man was that a long drive for one day out, one day back from Orlando. That's basically the update. They're also considering producing a live album of one of their final shows. That should totally rock because they are an awesome live band.
