Working with Fiberglass (TIP)

Here is a tip for anyone who needs to use fiberglass when doing bodywork repairs on their car.

My big dislike for using fiberglass was related to getting the resin all over your hands.

MY TIP IS...buy the real cheap green latex gloves at your local hardware store in the paint section. They cost about 25 cents a piece.

Pre-cut your piece(s) of fibeglass you plan on using then mix an appropriate amount of resin for the repair.

Put on a pair of the El-cheapo gloves and dip your fiberglass in the resin and set your cloth in place. You can really work the fiberglass into place with the gloves on and you don't have the nasty stuff all over your hands. After setting the cloth in place throw the old gloves away and prepare for your next repair section. Use fresh gloves everytime and your hands will love you for it. The gloves are cheap and it makes the process

somewhat tolerable.

I just thought I'd share it with you all.

Bodywork isn't my favorite pastime but I gotta keep the rust at bay

(hopefully till at least 300,000 miles)
