Yeah, I did that on my warmed-over '75. I had 8 forward speeds, but ran the risk of zero speeds if I tried for reverse OD. First and second gears didn't respond too well 'cause OD is actuated by a pump on the output shaft -- which doesn't spin fast at slow speeds.

But third OD was useful, good for cruising -- kinda like my '67 AH 3000 (fade to a wistful daydream into the past...)
