Pretty sure it's just one wire that goes to the fourth gear switch, and that this switch merely serves to ground the relay when fourth gear is engaged.
Replacing the fourth gear switch is actually pretty easy. You need a 22mm semi-deep socket and to loosen the tranny crossmember bolts to get enough clearance, then go by feel. I think IPD sells the switch for $21 or so.
