Removing Heater Control Valve 200 1983

How does one remove the heater control valve from its bracket on the 240? The exploded diagram of the climate control system in Haynes shows a clip securing the valve assembly. I can feel this clip but I have been unable to remove it to this point. Any tips or tricks? Thanks much.
