Re: LH-Jetronic fuel system problem 200 82

Jon,

You have probably figured out by now that there are not too many 240's around with the B21 and the LH injection. I also have an 82 with the LH set-up. Sounds like one of the 2 relays is stuck or dead. These cars have 2 relays whereas later models have the more common single fuel injection relay. If one of the relays is dead, the car won't start or run. Cheapest and simplest way out is to replace both relays, they are cheap ~10 bucks each or less. Many times you can give each a few waps with the back end of a screwdriver and the car will start right up. Both relays are under the dash on the driver side, they are the old style square ones about 1 inch or so square. If they still have the clamps on them that squeeze them, get rid of them. I just let them sit on the underdash cover. Memory tells me that fuel injection relay sends signal to fuel pump relay when you turn key.

If that doesn't do it, time to check in more detail. I have the problem solver and can provide additional details, if needed (send e-mail). I have been through this though not recently.
