Re: Power Steering Hose 200 87

Carefully slice the hose end length wise to release from reservior. There's usually enough hose to re-attach but the hose is probably original so it wouldn't hurt to replace it. No special instructions, just slip the new hose on and clamp it. Just make sure it's routed properly and doesn't chafe. To flush, I use a trans fluid funnel, cut it so it fits snugly in the reservior opening, plug the return line nipple, and us an extra hose with a splice fitting running to a drain pan. Fill the funnel with fresh fluid, start the engine, and run the steering back and forth a few times. Then reconect the return hose and top up. If the fluid level gets too low during the flush and air enters the system, the steering will chatter for a while and there will be bubbles in the reservior for a while, but this will subside rather quickly.
