Fuel line connetion to the gas tank (PV544) 444-544

Hello,

Volvo undercoated the heck out of the cars and you may have to remove some undercoating from the fuel line to make it easier.

You can scrap the majority of the undercoating off. I then spray some carb cleaner on a rag to make the remaining undercoating and residue damp with carb clean. Apply multiple times trying to keep undercoating damp and when softened, it will wipe off.

I suggest then spraying some penetrating oil on the fitting and threads. Make sure to get some on the area behind the fitting on the fuel line because sometimes rust can get between the fitting and metal fuel line.

You will need a 15mm wrench for the fitting(tube nut) on the brake line and a 9/16" wrench for the fitting in the gas tank and the threads are right hand, so lefty lucy.

If the tube nut doesn't move easily, make sure the tube nut isn't stuck/rusted to the metal fuel line.

FYI, if you are going to remove the fuel tank, you must remove the fuel line fitting in the tank.
