Trim clips 200

Hey Mike,

Thank you for this post.

Several times in the past I've been puzzled by that trim. The puzzlement appears when I try to replace broken clips with those I've carefully removed in the junkyard. It seems I remember being able to remove the rubbery ends of the trim to gain access and slide out the old clips and slide in the new, but now I realize that memory probably stems from a much older (83-84) 240, because all the 90's cars seem to have that rubber end molded right onto the trim. I ruin it removing it.

Well, your description of the "new" clips make it obvious to me what I should be doing. The clips are not only "new" but they are specifically "replacement" or "service" parts, meant only for aftermarket use, given the originals cannot be installed without the risk of ruining the trim.

Thank you!
