960 gurus-help please! S90-V90 1995

I've spent quite a bit of time searching the archives, but I still can't figure this problem out. Background: Car is a 95 960-runnning some errands yesterday, last stop went in got my stuff, came back out and car started and immediately sputtered to a stop. Tried to restart but car would sometimes sputter and try to run, but would not stay running or take gas. This same thing happened early in the summer and I had the car towed home, where it fired right up and ran like nothing was ever wrong! I checked some things out and continued to drive it until yesterday.

Anyway, had the car towed home again. Started checking things out today. It won't even sputter now. I thought it might be the fuel pump because I have no pump sound with key initially turned on. Checked power at pump connector in trunk and no power there. So I checked for spark and I have no spark either. Checked all fuses and relays and did some swapping around of relays with no change. All fuses are good.

I had a new rpm sensor in the box so I put that on-no change. Not sure what to do next. Got the charger on the battery right now. I will check for loose grounds and corrosion at the positive battery terminal. Anybody got any ideas?

The fact that the fuel pump doesn't prime (get power) when the key is in the start position seems like it should point to something along with the fact that I have no spark. I'm not real good wih electrical problems, hoping some of you guys are. Thanks.
