Direct from Nick himself!

Hi Jim-

Thank you for your comments and input.

The diagrams of the parts will be on there eventually. We figured it was more important to get all of the parts on the site and then get the diagrams sorted out but they will be back there in short order.

As for the country of manufacturer, that may be tricky. We are in a tough place where one week I will get a batch of Conti belts in where they are labeled made in Germany, and then the next week I will get a batch made in Mexico from the same supplier!

There are a few things we are definitely going to tweak on this site, and we are working on the scrip to have a search for all products of a particular vehicle. This may or may not help out, but we think it will help with some of the complaints.

The main reason we had to switch our site is that the old one was too difficult and time consuming to maintain. The layout was great and we wished we could have kept it, but to keep track of the brand, prices, and inventory was nearly impossible.

I hope that your remain a loyal customer as we do appreciate your business.

Regards,

Nick Bauer

Subject: New Website

Dear Nick:

I'm a loyal FCP Groton customer. Myself and my family have been using you for our fast moving parts needs on several Volvos for a few years now, and I have always been happy with the speed of shipping, quality of parts and the great customer service you guys have given us through the years. I recommend you to everyone who is looking for parts for their cars. Thanks again!

Your new website is really up and coming. However, as noted in some of the online forums (Brickboard and turbobricks) most folks are not receiving the site so well. There's currently a thread by an unregistered brickboard user where they bash you and the site severely. I really don't think that's fair - but I do hear one resounding complaint that I think could be easily remedied.

Folks really miss the diagrams of parts. Is there any way you can put the graphics back that show where each bushing part number goes for suspension, for example? I think these diagrams are really helpful for folks working on their own cars, especially for the owners who don't have VADIS or other tools available to them since they're not a dealer or a professional shop.

Also, and I realize this may be especially difficult, is there any way to post the county of manufacture with the parts? A lot of folks are very resistance to putting parts into their cars from Mexico, Taiwan, China, and other origins which are perceived as "inferior" to original manufacture (though I personally have no problem with the new Mann filters, the Chinese Scan-Car bushing kits of Mexican Conti belts - they all seem to work just fine). I think by doing so you would put yourself in a market position where you would have advantage over your competition.

Also, people liked seeing the various "generations' of Volvo with each part number sorted out. I realize keeping this element may be difficult, but it is definitely something people liked about the old site.

Thanks for your time. I wrote you primarily because I had heard a lot of complaints (mainly because people resist change) but I wasn't sure if there was anything constructive being done, or if you even knew about any of the criticisms. I wish you the best of luck, and you still have my continued support and business whenever one of our babies breaks!

Warm regards,
Jim Morris
