two things control the idle.
one is the Aux Air Valve, it starts in an open position then assisted by an electrical "heater" closes as the engine warms up. It sits off the valve cover, has a connector and hoses that bypass the throttle plate.
the other is in the fuel distributor itself. in the middle of the "box" where the 4 fuel lines that go to the injectors, is a hole. You need a long allen wrench (8mm) I think, to turn the adjuster. It helps to have a dwell meter hooked up to the test point (a female blade connection) that sits just in front of the drivers shock tower. This allen adjustment changes the blance of the air sensor plate inside the fuel distrubutor.
