Ignition, but sorta off topic

I might try putting a later bosch / crylser system on just for gp and see what happens. I am also thinking of doing a complete lh/116 swap, athough that'll probably take a while. I have a later model (90??) 760t parts car, so I can probably pull the guts off of that. But... that's a spare time project, which currently ranks after fixing a truck, essentially rebuilding another truck, rebuilding my horse trailer, and probably a few other things, so it'll probably never happen. We'll see.

On the crylser system, wouldn't it just retard the timing past the knock point, and thus effectivly have a pressure retard? Does not having vacuum affect the knock retard part? If it's in a "limp home mode" type thing, would it still consider the knock, or does it just default to a programed map and ignore everything else? Might also be able to do some cobbleing and keep the stock dizzy and use the stock pressure retard equiptment. (would be nessessary to have some sort of a fake diaphram on there anyway to satisfy smog. (so the vacuum diagram still matches)
Thanks ~ John
