Apparent PNP switch failure > New QUESTION... S90-V90

This is usually caused by dirty contacts in the sensor itself. That's why moving the shifter can get them to come on. These sensors usually don't loosen up and come out of adjustment. You could try to adjust it and see if it will help. Adjusting it to make the backup light come on may skew the other gates, like Drive, N, etc... but it may be worth a try.
