Coil wire 200 1989

The ignition coil wire (brand new, Bougicord) got stretched out on a generic ignition coil that some one previously put in before the car was bought. Wire, Cap, coil and plugs were all generic....So basically, I did a major tune up, sans the ignition coil... With everything OE.
I've since replaced the ignition coil with an OE Volvo Bosch out of a 91ish?.. 245 from a boneyard... But, because the new wire had some time on the generic coil, it now has gotten stretched out, and there is some slack around the coil/coil wire ,connection and this kinda worries me, because every other boot connection is tight, such as around the plugs, and on the distributer cap.
So what's a good fix?.... replace the one wire?... ignore it?... electrical tape?
