Hi, all. I'm new to these boards but going on my third 240. My question is about choosing a replacement stereo for the '88 GL I just bought. I'm new at this stuff, so please bear with me. I'm not even sure what questions to ask.

Basically I'm looking for a moderate-priced stereo w/ CD player that'll fit the car, plus speakers since the originals are junk. Can anyone tell me where to start? What to look for? What measurements I need? I read there are kits to make just about any stereo fit the car. Is that true and where do I get it?

I have a great mechanic who'll do the install, but I want to get a good deal, preferably online, since I hate to shop.

Any suggestions, recommendations for where to buy, tips on what to look for? Thanks.
