Fuel Pump, Fuel Pump Relay, or Tank Pump? 700 1989

My 1989 740 Turbo (B230F) cranks but will not turn over after a sudden and complete shut-down on the road. When trying to turn the engine over, there is no detectable gas fumes near the fuel injectors. I've heard about this problem and feared it was coming. Alas, here it is - where do I begin?
