First of all, thank to Machine Man (Phil), Michael Yount, Art Bernstein, Blindboy, and Aleekat for help in resolving a no start issue after replacing a starter and solenoid on my 89 240D automatic. Following your various bits of advice and guidance, I now have it starting and running normally. I had taken apart the neutral safety switch and cleaned the contacts as well as check and clean contacts throughout the ignition system. I am left with one residual issue, a flickering red/orange upward-pointing arrow light that appears at the right hand bottom of the instrument panel. It intensifies with higher rpms and reduces when you let the gas off. It seems to emulate the firing of the ignition system. Any advice? And thank you all again! Deniv, Tucson AZ
