Heater motor replacement - remove the dead A/C? 200

I got my new heater motor, switch and resistor in the mail. When I do the replacement, would it make any sense to remove the A/C parts while I am in there? This old car hasn't had A/C in years and I am never planning to fix it, nor am I planning to sell it. So... is it worth removing 50 lbs (or however much it all weighs) from the car?
