Thought I'd put in my 2 cents since I did this pretty recently with hand tools on an 89 with a manual transmission. I had no luck with the extra long extensions.

The top bolt I ended up getting from above. I got a wrench in behind the two coolant hoses that go through the firewall and down on to the top bolt and gave a good two handed yank.

The lower bolt I ended up getting with no extensions! There was enough room to sneek a half inch breaker bar up past the end of the clutch cable. I'm guessing that this is impossible on an automatic and that's why people recommend the extensions.

Good luck.
Spencer
