One tooth probably not noticeable. When it's running, look at your crank pulley that it doesn't look like it is turning out of round. Lots of folks miss the "numb" that the crank pulley rides in. As far as re-tensioning, most manuals run anywhere from 500miles to 1000. While you're there, chalk, marker, whiteout, something to mark a line across the crank pulley. If it ever starts to separate, you can see that right away.
