I'm still trying to get this confounded thing to work.
The main problem is that I'm not sure exactly what I need to do in order to get the thing to talk to the car.
I've got it all hooked up properly. I can get the computer to send updates to the VCT2000 unit, and it ends with the smiley face, making me think the computer and VCT2000 unit are communicating.
So I'll log into the VADIS software, but it won't talk to the car. When ever I try to get any info from any of the various cars I plugged it into, it always says it can not communicate with the vehicle.
I decided to run the self tests in the VADIS software, but then it told me it couldn't communicate with the VST. Now, I don't know what a VST is, and I don't know what it is suppose to do.
Does this thing need a special cable from the PC to the VCT2000? I'm just using a regular old Serial DB9 male to female connector.
If anyone has any ideas, or knows someone I could email, I'd really appreciate it. This has been very frustrating for both me and the mechanic.
Thanks as always.
