replace headrest 850

Just got a used 1997 850 sedan - moving up from a 1987 volvo. I find the front headrest on the drivers side to be a problem - seems to allow for a major blind spot. Does anyone know if I can take my older headrest and replace the driver's side in the 1997? Is it mechanically possible and safe? Any other suggestions? I want headrests for safety reasons but find myself disliking the ones I have in the 1997. Tahnk you ahead of time for helping!
