The lease is coming up on our 2001 V70 T5. I love the car with the exception of the horrible turning radius. It is embarassing having to make 3-point turns while Expeditions wait behind you as they easily make the U-turn.
I checked out a new V70 R which I really liked but the turning radius seemed the same or possibly even worse. The salesman was very familiar with the problem, obviously they're loosing sales because of this. I actually saw an V70 XC get trapped in a parking space because the car couldn't cut a sharp turn. The owner was stranded.
It looks like the wheels are too big for these cars. A possible fix might be to add spacers to the move the wheels out and/or roll the fenders. Anyone tried to fix this problem?
As much as I like the T-5, and even more so the R, I can't put up with this problem again. Might be time to check out the Allroad or X-3.
