Replacing timing belt is one of the easiest maintenance procedures if one follow instructions. Access is good, instructions clear but if one doesn't align all three wheels and screws up tensioner then costly disaster will surely follow.
I replaced my t-belt without any problems (piece of cake) and have done other repairs and maintenance too, as I get lot of satisfaction from working on my cars. Visits to a dealer can be sometimes trying and I avoid them if I can. BTW, although my local dealer charges "only" $30 to read codes I got a code reader ($150) not so much to avoid the charges but to stay away from him.
