Check Eng. light on when cold/Lowering springs S70

No specific ideas about the check engine light, but your mechanic (or you), can easily run the codes and see what comes up, which should give a fairly specific reason for the check engine light.

As for the lowering springs, I went with the Eibach prokits on my 850, and they've been great. For installation, I went to my mech...unless you have the equipment, compressing the springs to get the old ones out and new ones in is very difficult, if not impossible (someone correct me if I'm wrong?)...
