Don't use an IPD magnetic drain plug (my opinion) S70 1998

Are you sure what left is the IPD plug? I have installed one on my S70 T5 for ~30 k miles without any problem-I mean it's still there. It's hard to believe that it will fall out of the plug (don't mean to back up IPD). If the magnet did fall out, you may try to retrieve it with another magnet moving around outside the bottom of the oil pan or, well, open it up.

However, I share with your opinion for the other reason. I doubt if it works as IPD advertises simply because I never see any deposite on the surface of the magnet. They should have shown a set of pictures or data (the amount of absorbed debris) to demonstrate the difference (between the magnet and non-magnetic material).
