Before jumping to that conclusion w/o knowing what fault code you had (not listed) I'd suggest that you try clearing the code first to see if it re-occurs. You might have a vacuum hose leak causing something like a 232 code (fuel trim) in which the O2 sensor is probably not the problem.
Do you know how to check and clear codes yourself? If so, what code(s) is present?
