Help!? Can't understand why radiator can't come out the top?! S40-V40

OK... I've got my new radiator ready to swap in, but I just went out to survey the work of getting the old one out, and I just don't see why it will not come out from the top!? Looking underneath there is a huge cross-member support for the engine that makes taking it out from underneath look really hellish.

For the life of me, I don't see why there's not clearance to pull it from the top. Can somebody possibly explain to me why it supposedly must come out from the bottom?

I've been searching this site for other info, and a couple of other posts, like one in the v70 forum said they managed it fine from the top?

Anybody?
